I decided to call Air-Craft to look at my furnace after it quit working last night. Air-Craft is about 1 block from my house and I like to support local business. The person on the phone was very friendly and took time to listen my furnace symptoms. I called at 8:00am, before the dispatcher arrived. The dispatcher later called me back to confirm that I needed a service call - she was very friendly too. We were able to get a repairman at 11:00am, which I thought was pretty good for being a last-minute request. The repairman was curteous and knowledgable. He indulged me with my questions and did a thorough evaluation of the furnace. Before he even got started, the furnace started up on its own, but he still took time to look things over. Turns out I need a new thermostat, which I will install myself, being a DIYer. I wasn't given any BS or pressure to buy anything. He could have replaced the thermostat, but didn't push the issue after he know that I wanted to do it, he even gave me a few pointers. I was satisfied with the experience. The service call price was a little high: $95 for the first hour, $75 for each hour thereafter. The service call lasted about 35 or 40 minutes, so I shelled out the $95. I would recommend to others, but wish the price was about $30 cheaper.
