If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. I wish I would have never given them a chance. I had a furnace installed 3 weeks ago and have had nothing but problems. First, they installed my furnace and the wrong type of thermostat so the unit would not run. When we called to tell them about the problem, they wanted us to pay for a service call to come and take a look (for a furnace that never worked). We refused and they attempted to schedule a time to come out. They then had to reschedule because "emergencies had come in" and they had to order a part. However, they refused to reschedule after 3pm when we could be home, instead they told me they would not drive to our side of town in the afternoons and would only come at 9am. We have full time jobs and had to take off work to be there for them to come back to fix it. More than a week later, they come out and install the right thermostat (they had installed one for a heat pump instead of a furnace and installer admitted he never checked to make sure it worked).
The unit ran for only a weekend before we smelled gas. A call to Duke Energy later and our furnace was red tagged with a note that the gas line had been installed wrong and was leaking. At this point, I'm VERY angry. I called the emergency line at Al's and someone came out that night (but not without grumbling about having to drive to the westside). They re-routed the gas line and had to order a separate part.
Today, after 3 days of calling, I got a call back from the manager with nothing but excuses and not even an apology. He insisted that the manufacturer had sent the wrong thermostat in the first place (ignored my comment that the installer should have confirmed it worked as part of install). He then insisted that the gas line must have had a hole from the manufacturer because there is no way it would have rubbed a hole in two weeks, and didn't seem to even take me seriously. He took no ownership in any of the problems and continued to give me sales pitches about how great of a company Al's is.
I would never recommend this company to anyone. Their service is the worst I've ever experienced in this industry.
