Elle Marie

Being a patient here produced one of the worst experiences of my life. They robbed me of my desired birth experience, and I can never ever get it back. They do not care at all about a woman having control of her own body. They will straight lie to your face to manipulate you to do what is best and easiest for THEM, rather than YOU. They told me over and over I absolutely could not have a vbac, they would not even consider it. I questioned why, and they could not provide any valid medical reasons at all. They kept babbling about "too much risk", but could not specify what kind of risk or give me any solid data to back up these risk claims. They did not once talk to me about the very real risks of repeat c sections, or surgery in general (blood clots, blood loss, bladder injuries) . They did not mention risks of c sections because c sections are easier and faster for THEM. I had a horrible, painful c section there, with the longest, worst recovery of my life, even though I was perfectly healthy, and had a totally normal pregnancy. I could not fully enjoy my new baby due to intense pain and suffering , and now I suffer from PTSD from it. Funny, I now have a doctor who supports natural birth, and women' s rights, and after reviewing all my medical records in depth, he has told me that I surely can attempt a vaginal birth, and I am just as strong, healthy, and capable as any other woman. So, if you respect and believe in yourself, and your right to choose what is done to your body, find a doctor who also believes in you. Trust me, it will not be here.
