LWHS is a very nice school, having good teachers (for the most part), and easy ways for students to take curriculum that they want. For instance, during my high school career, I was able to learn Japanese and have the school honor it, as well as allowing me time to study in school. The guidance counselors are nice, and overall the teaching atmosphere is fantastic, but the big help for this school is Butler Tech's influence. The technology programs offered by Butler Tech through this school are absolutely extraordinary, with fantastic teachers that really connect with students. Same goes for LWFC. But where the teaching atmosphere is fantastic, the social atmosphere lacks. Social groups form quickly each year, and it is generally pretty easy to find one that suits you, but if you cannot, nobody really helps with it. Another problem with the social atmosphere is the separate categories that students fit into academically. Many kids' parents don't bother about their student's grades, (ex. 8 people in one of my classes had Fs and the parents did not care.) The lack of discipline among many of the children is almost frightening, as there are kids getting suspended left and right. Then, there are the opposite type of kids, who are always on top of their work, and always do things on time. This is a PERFECT SCHOOL for kids who will pay attention and do their work, as the teachers are among the best in the state. There is an exception here or there, but for the most part, this is a fantastic learning environment ruined by unmotivated students. -Avery Storer
