Wingate by Wyndham Lima Downtown

We made a reservation here because it seemed like it has pretty good reviews. however, when we checked in and went to our room, the floor was very dirty and had not been vacuumed. in fact, as we looked closer, there was a pair of fake eyelashes on the floor next to the bed. we went back to the desk and asked for a different room and told them of the problem. they gave us a different room, however upon going to that one, it also looked as though it had not been vacuumed. we could see lots of dirt, crumbs, etc. in various parts of the room. we also noticed a pen on the floor near the desk (that was not a pen from the hotel. it must have been dropped by the previous guest). we went back to the desk and they gave us keys to a third room. it seemed better but we also noticed a number of loose things on the carpet in that room that moved when we rubbed our shoe across them, so they should have come up if the carpet had been vacuumed. we decided at that point, just to cut our losses and go to a different hotel. the lady at the front desk did not give us any problem with that (as long as they don't charge my card, which I will have to double check). we ended up going to the Hampton Inn and checking in there which was a much better experience.
