Beth Israel Synagogue is a small, warm and friendly Conservative Congregation that serves Jews in Butler, Warren and Hamilton Counties. All services or programs are open to anyone, check out the website for times. The Religious School is led by Phyllis Binik-Thomas, one of 57 recipients of the 2009 Grinspoon-Steinhardt Excellence in Jewish Education Award. The award will be formally presented at a ceremony to be held in Washington DC later this year. Rabbi Eric Slaton has served Beth Israel for ten years. Classes are small; often Rabbi Slaton will work one on one with members on whatever is of interest. Beth Israel will soon celebrate its 100ths anniversary. In that time, the Synagogue has changed in response to the needs of the community. Throughout the years, however, Beth Israel has retained its commitment to being a warm, open and welcoming place for its members.
